Team India coped up with hot weather by taking ice baths

It is not easy having to play matches in the sweltering sun. However, India not only played against West Indies in the hot weather but also won against them in both the Test matches. India was able to wrap up the second Test in just three days.

Both the match venues - Rajkot and Hyderabad were by no means easygoing on the temperature. With temperatures soaring over 38 degrees, players faced difficulties maintaining their fitness on the ground.

In a recent video posted by the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI), fitness coach Shankar Basu explains how the players fought against the heat. Basu elaborated on ice baths players took to maintain their body temperatures.

Basu said, "There have been many papers written on the importance of ice baths. Over a period of time, we have fine-tuned things as per the needs of our team and what works and what doesn't for certain members of the team. In the subcontinent conditions, the ice bath does work pretty well."
