Heavy rain in Bengaluru was affecting the start of play in the important match for both RCB and RR. After a long time, play just started before the cut off time as it was decided that a 5 over match will take place.

Rain affected game between RCB and RR ends with no result

RR who had won the toss had elected to field first.

RCB had Kohli and Ab Devillers open the innings as Kohli started with 2 sixes in the first 2 balls and got 23 runs of the first over of Varun Aaron. The second over was once again action packed as Gopal turned up and conceded 10 runs off the first two balls. He then made a great comeback getting a hattrick, picking up Kohli, Devilliers, and Stoinis in 3 balls. They then scrapped through as they got 10, 9 and 8 runs off the 3rd, 4th and 5h over to get 62 in the 5 overs.

RR had Samson and Livingstone open the batting as both started off very well. They lost Samson in the 2nd ball of the 4th over when the score was 41 as Rain came in once again. The match was then called off and ended with no result. The game was getting close and could have gone down to the wire but rain once again played spoilsport.

With this RCB are definitely out of this tournament, but RR still have an outside chance to qualify if results go their way.
