No outside players allowed to play TNPL: SC.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to conduct the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) matches without any outside players. The apex court upheld the stipulation of Committee of Administrators (CoA) that any player not registered with state cricketing body can't play in the tournament, says a News18 report.

While the BCCI at a Special General Meeting (SGM) earlier cleared the way for players from other states to play in domestic leagues, the COA, which administers the BCCI, deemed the SGM “null and void”. The TNCA moved SC seeking clarifications on the eligibility of outside players to play in TNPL.

TNCA had allowed the eight TNPL teams to induct two players each from outside the state with a proviso that the outside players submit No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from their respective state cricket associations.
