Mumbai Indians win at Chennai once again in a crucial match !!!

After winning the toss in the crucial match, MS Dhoni decided to bat first and put up runs on board.

The struggling top order of CSK failed to get going on a tough pitch as they lost their top 3 wickets in the powerplay for just 32 runs. Murali Vijay playing his second match of the season played well along with Rayudu to rebuild the innings with a 33 runs partnership. One Vijay fell for a run a ball 26, MS Dhoni came out to the middle and showed intent early on. MS Dhoni and fans were hoping for a big finish towards the end to get a good score on this tough pitch. It looked like that would happen when he launched two massive sixes of Malinga in the 19th over but couldn't create the same impact against Bumrah in the last over as they got to 131 in 20 overs which was 10-15 runs below what they would have liked. The Mumbai bowlers did a great job and Rahul Chahar, in particular, was exceptional as he finished with 2/14 in 4 overs.

Coming out to chase, Mumbai Indians lost both openers early but the relatively inexperienced Suryakumar Yadav and young Ishan Kishan found a way to bat on this pitch as they got 80 runs together and that partnership almost sealed them the game. Suryakumar Yadav played a match-winning innings and remained unbeaten with 71 off just 54 balls as Mumbai Indians won with 9 balls to spare.

Mumbai Indians on the day were the better team as they adapted to the conditions better than the home team. Mumbai Indians will now go straight to the finals and look good to win the tournament since they have all bases covered.
CSK will have one more chance to get to the finals and will look to sort out the batting before the next game.
