After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to field first.

MI win KKR and move to the top of the table. KKR out of the tournament

Chris Lynn looked in fine form as he was hitting the ball to all parts. Gill on the other end was struggling to get going as he fell for 9 from 16 balls. Chris Lynn fell soon after that for a well made 41 from 29 balls. After that KKR never really got going. Robin Uthappa struggled to get bat on ball as he was on 9 from 21 balls at one stage. He was constantly trying to push his scoring rate but was not able to find timing on most occasions. Dinesh Karthik was not able to make an impact and Russell fell the first ball to Malinga. Rana was able to get a few away as he scored 26 from 13 balls but KKR only managed to post 133 which was well under par.

MI got a good start from the openers as they got 46 runs in the opening partnership. De Kock fell, but Rohit was playing sensibly not taking any risks. Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma combined for a 88 runs partnership that took MI home with 3.5overs to spare.

KKR will feel that they missed out with the bat as they could not get going after the powerplay. MI now move to the top of the table followed by CSK, Delhi Capitals, and SRH.
