Dinesh Karthik won the toss and elected to field first.

KKR win against the KXIP and stay alive in the tournament

The Kings XI Punjab didn't get off to a good start as both Rahul and Gayle fell early. Agarwal coming in at 3 and Pooran at 4 played well as they got a 69 runs partnership. Pooran was really attacking as he ended up with 48 from just 27 balls. They got a cameo from Mandeep Singh as well but Sam Curran provided a very good finish getting 55 from just 24 balls as the Kings XI Punjab finished with 183 in the 20 overs.

KKR coming out to bat got off to a flyer as Chriss Lynn looked in great touch and took the bowling on. Chris Lynn scored 46 off 22 balls as it allowed Gill to settle in as well. Uthappa chipped in with 22 from 14 balls and Andre Russell playing at 4 contributed with 24 runs. Gill at the other end timed the ball beautifully as he cruised to 65 from 49 balls and didn't look in any trouble what so ever.  Captain Dinesh Karthik, in the end, finished the match off in style as he finished with an unbeaten 21 from just 9 balls and won with 2 overs to spare.

KKR will be happy with the combination that is working as Gill opening the innings has provided stability in the batting. They will look to continue with this momentum and will hope to qualify. This will also mean that KXIP will unfortunately not be able to qualify this year.
