The number four spot for the Indian cricket team has been an ongoing debate for a long time now. Ambati Rayudu was the preferred option for a while before he lost his form in recent series and lost his spot to Vijay Shankar who grew through the Indian ranks rapidly.
Vijay Shankar has not performed well in this years IPL so far and hence in spite of his selection, critics have been debating about the number 4 spot for this Worldcup.
Krishnamachari Srikkanth has now said that although the number 4 position has been debated for a long time, he believes that "India has a readymade No. 1 in MS Dhoni". He believes that with the way he has batted in Australia and in the IPL this year where he has scored 358 runs in 11 matches for CSK, he is the perfect suit for the position.
Fans also believe that Dhoni at number 4 will be great for Team India. In that case, they can also play Dinesh Karthik who is in good form at 5 which means they can have Karthik, Jadhav, and Pandya to give a strong finish.
