CROWD WATCHES AS WOMAN SET ABLAZE BY HUSBAND

A man poured petrol over his wife and set her ablaze in front of a crowd in Thrissur, Kerala on Sunday afternoon. Reportedly, 29-year-old Jeethu was burnt by her husband Veeraj in front of nearly 40 people who did nothing but watch. Jeethu suffered 80% burns and succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Monday.
Jeethu was returning from a neighbourhood meeting when the incident took place. According to Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha activists, except for her father and an auto driver, nobody even batted their eyes while the incident took place.
Reportedly, Jeethu and Veeraj had issues and were planning to get a divorce. The police are currently in search for Veeraj who absconded.
