A third-year engineering student at Jain College in Thoraipakkam reportedly jumped from the third floor of the hostel building and committed suicide on Sunday. Following his death, relatives of the student staged a protest outside the college on Monday, alleging foul play in the student’s death. However, police pacified the protestors and a case has been registered to investigate the matter.
