The Indian Railways has reportedly decided to terminate the services of around 13,000 employees, who have been on ‘unauthorised leave’ for a long term, adding that it is around 1% of the railways’ workforce. Reports suggest that the ‘massive drive’ to ‘weed out’ these employees is an attempt to improve the railways’ performance.
