CENTRE PLANS TO BRING CHANGES TO SYLLABUS AND INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the educational institutions across the country remain closed and exams were halted. Since then, uncertainity has been mounting in the minds of students and parents about what lies ahead.

Centre Plans to Reduce Syllabus, Asks Suggestion from Academicians

Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry recently said that schools and colleges can reopen post August 15 after consulting with the Union Home Ministry, Health Ministry, and respective state governments.

Meanwhile, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has asked teachers, academicians and educationists if reducing syllabus and instuctional hours would be good idea.

"In view of the current circumstances and after receiving a lot of requests from parents and teachers, we are contemplating the option of reduction in the syllabus and instructional hours for the coming academic year," Nishank tweeted.

"I would like to appeal to all teachers, academicians, and educationists to share their point of view on this matter using #SyllabusForStudents2020 on MHRD's or my Twitter and Facebook page so that we can take them into consideration while making a decision," he said in another tweet.
