Srikanth who debuts as a producer with Nambiar had opened up about the certification the film had received. Nambiar which will release on the 19th August 2016 was cleared with an U/A rating from the censor board
 

While opening to us about the issue he told, “My film had received U/A rating because it did not contain any violent bloodshed, any item songs or unnecessary scenes like liplocks, vulgar scenes, etc. Maybe if it had all these scenes, it would have been cleared with a U rating.”
