Santhanam sings a song in Nambiar, starring Srikanth

15 minutes is all Santhanam needed

Oct 04, 2013

Santhanam turns singer in the upcoming Srikanth starrer, Nambiar. The actor, who plays an important role in the film, has rendered his voice for the song “Aara amara ukkanthu sarakkadi nanba sarakkadi”, that has been penned by Viveka and composed by Vijay Antony.

Ganesh, the debut director who has been helming Nambiar explains the situation and the kind of song it would be.

This is a bar song, the kind of song that are sung in karaoke bars. Srikanth plays the character of a non drinker, who drinks cool drinks when his friends catch up for a few drinks. However, Srikanth ends up drinking one night and picks up the mike to sing a song.”

It should be noted that Santhanam does not feature in the song which means that Srikanth will lip sync Santhanam’s voice.

Vijay Antony had initially composed a fast number for this song. But later when he learned that it was Santhanam who was going to sing, he tweaked the tune to a much more interesting one. The interesting part here is that the team had blocked the studio for 5 hours in order to record the song. But Santhanam finished the song in a super fast 15 minutes.
