The Madras High Court had earlier stayed the release of Vijay Antony's upcoming film Kaali after distributor William Alexander of Picture Box Company filed a complaint against Fathima Vijay Antony, proprietor of Vijay Antony Pictures.

Alexander has distributed Vijay Antony's previous film Annadurai and sought compensation for the film's loss. Now the Madras High Court has lifted the stay order.

Fathima Vijay Antony took to her Twitter space to share this news, "Dear friends, The Chennai High court has vacated the interim stay for “KAALI”👍👍😀.True justice prevails 🙏🙏, praise the lord."
