Actor Karthi, who was last seen on Dev, has recently signed up a film which will be helmed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Maanagaram’ fame. The actor was recently invited for the audio launch of July Kaatril, a film written and directed by KC Sundaram starring Ananth Nag, Anju Kurian and Samyuktha Menon. Actress Kasthuri was also present at the event as the host.

Karthi reacts strongly to Kasthuri's selfie controversy

When Karthi was invited to the dais, to speak about the film, the actress forcibly tried to click a selfie and said she want to click when his dad Sivakumar is not around. This didn't go well with the actor who in turn didn’t hesitate to respond to this incident. The actor said “This is totally unwanted now. The act of taking a selfie has become reckless and disrespectful in recent times. A person should ask for consent before clicking a picture with the other person.”. He further went on, saying “What will happen if the flash affects a person with migraine. It worries me to think that we have stooped to such lows” and continued to talk about the new project and wished the entire team.

July Kaatril features music composed by Joshua Shridhar of Veppam fame. The film is produced by Saravanan Palaniappan under the banner Kaviya Entertainments.
