Wing Commander Abhinandan of the Indian Air Force has been captured by the Pakistan Army. Yesterday, a video was also released after he was being cleaned of the wounds. In the video, when asked about his whereabouts, Abhinandan firmly replied saying “I’m not supposed to say you that.”
Various celebrities and politicians have been praying and tweeting for the safe return of Wing Commander Abhinandan. Makkal Needhi Maiam founder and president Kamal Haasan had spoken to Varthaman, father of WC Abhinandan over the phone and has released a press release regarding the same.
Speaking over the phone, he has said “I don’t know how to console people with will power like you. I can assure you that the whole nation is behind you during this difficult situation. Your son’s service to the nation is highly respectable. I have confidence that soldiers who are aware of ethics of the battlefield will be present in Pakistan too, and Abhinandan will safely return to the nation.”
“I did not release a tweet regarding this issue because this is not the time for debate and arguments. This is a time where we all think and act wisely. That’s why I felt it would be right to talk to you in person.Thank you for accepting to talk to me.“
“If we all (public) can sleep peacefully at night, it is because of your son and others like him. Right now, it is sad that you can’t sleep peacefully. I assure you that your son will return home safely.”
