“SMARAN DANCE FESTIVAL 2014” - A unique conglomeration of new generation classical dancers

Smaran (meaning Retention) Performing Arts presents, for the first time in Bay Area “SMARAN DANCE FESTIVAL 2014” - a unique conglomeration of new generation classical dancers from Bay Area and celebrity artists from different parts of the world.

 

Smaran’s goal is to reach as many art lovers as possible and have them take away good memories. SMARAN DANCE FESTIVAL (SDF) 2014 aims to provide trained budding young dancers in various Indian classical dance forms, the opportunity to showcase their art and share the stage with accomplished artists, thereby encouraging and making it a holistic learning experience

 

SMARAN DANCE FESTIVAL 2014 (SDF) will be held on September 13th at the Milpitas Jain temple auditorium. SDF 2014 will feature Celebrity Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi artist Guru Shri Sanjay Shantaram from Bangalore, India. The stars of the festival this year are two young talented dancers Vinay Srinivasan (Disciple of Guru Hema Rajagoplan) and Swathi Ramesh (Disciple of Guru Mathura Viswanathan, Shirisha Shashank) who will present scintillating solo dance recitals.

 

SDF 2014 will also showcase Bay Area’s renowned Smaran Dance Ensemble, who will present a vibrant group performance.

 

SDF 2014 will be a fundraiser for Aram Sei (aramsei.org) a non -profit organization that supports grassroots charities worldwide, with focus on education and healthcare.

 

About Smaran Performing Arts

 

Smaran Performing Arts is a “Bharatanatyam” dance ensemble founded in 2011 by Vidyalatha Jeerage to promote and nurture classical art forms and to encourage talented dancers to showcase their art form. Smaran is based in Santa Clara, California and has more than 20 trained classical dancers. Dancers come from various cultural backgrounds and have been trained under different Gurus including Vidyalatha Jeerage.

 

Smaran collaborates with a number of eminent artists, musicians, and theatre persons from India to create unique dance experiences. So far, Smaran has presented various dance productions/Shows and has been also able to raise funds for various Non-Profit Organizations through its productions.
