“I alone don’t have the patent to make fun of others”, Goundamani quips

Goundamani is an extraordinary comedian in Tamil film industry and is known for his intelligent retorts and phrases which have become common phrases in everyday life too. At any given point of time, his comedy episodes will be running in comedy channels.

He is currently working in 49 O directed by Thambi Arogiyadas which is said to be about agriculture and also a tribute to the recently departed organic farming scientist Nammazhvar.

When asked about how his style of making fun of others (in films) has been followed by many comedians today, Goundamani in his trademark fashion replies, “So what if people follow that? It is not that I alone have the patent rights to make fun of others. Let everyone make fun of everyone!"

He also very candidly admits that he does not see any Indian films and if he feels like, he only watches Hollywood films. Quite an interesting admittance that is!
