A belated Ajith birthday treat coming up

We had reported earlier about the re-release of Ajith's 25th movie, Amarkalam, after DI restoration. The film was set to release on May 1 coinciding with Ajith's birthday but couldn't make it due to unspecified reasons. We now have information that the re-release will happen on 16th May, next week. A few single screens in the city such as Anna, Agastya and Srinivasa have already been scheduled to screen the movie. Interestingly, a major portion of Amarkalam was shot in Srinivasa theatre.

Directed by Saran and with music by Bharadwaj, Amarkalam was a big hit in Ajith's career in 1999, when he was starting to make his mark as a promising young hero. The re-release ought to experience good patronage from die-hard Thala fans.
