A special feature of Vellithirai is that none of the cast including the lead artists like Prakash Raj, Prithviraj, Gopika and Lakshmi Rai will be smearing grease paint and the film is said to showcase them in their natural self.

While discussing his trip to Indonesia, Viji says, “Bali is one of the costliest Islands in the world. The shooting expenses have become thrice more than the projected budget.” Meanwhile the team has plans to shoot two more songs in Australia and New Zealand with the lead players of the film.

The young and talented music director G V Prakash scores music for two songs in the film. Viji also added that he has made all the characters in the film dub for themselves. Leading stars of Kollywood would be making guest appearance in Vellithirai.
