The
Tamil Nadu Government has granted
permission to the theater owners association
to run five shows in theaters during
Pongal starting from January 15 to
17. Owing to the festive season, the
association has approached the government
seeking consent to run new releases
for five shows in theaters as opposed
to four shows -- to cash in on the
festive crowd.
The theater owners association in a press release
made the announcement yesterday. Now that the
theater and multiplex rates are slashed, theaters
are expecting full houses during the Pongal
festive season.
