The members of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’
Council are up in arms against their President
T G Thiagarajan. They want him out of office:
the reason is the president has not been attending
the meetings of the council and that he has been
favourably biased towards Sun TV. A meeting was
hurriedly convened on Feb 27 to pass a no confidence
motion against him. As expected, the president
had absented himself from the meeting.
For some time now, the producers’ council
has not been seeing eye to eye with the television
channels, particularly the Sun TV, which had been
misusing the audio and video clipping of the latest
movies. Several requests had not been heeded to.
And the president had not taken any serious action
against the TV Channel(s) because his serial,
earning about three lakhs per day, has been aired
on the Sun TV.
