Vairamuthu
was the man who had some time back said that there
was no serious literature in the works of the
younger lyricists. But now the guy pays serious
attention to their verses, especially after Pa.Vijay
won the National Award. Earlier Vairamuthu would
lay down the condition that he be told the story
and the context for the song and also that he
would write all the songs. His rate was one lakh
per song. However, nowadays, he is prepared to
write any number of songs, even just one. And
he is prepared to write five songs for just three
lakhs. Discount rate? Eh!! For Superstar’s
Sivaji he is penning all the lyrics. |
