‘It
is fun to work with Aamir’,
we have heard many people echo this
sentiment. But that seems to apply
only when things are going well. Aamir
is currently on the sets of his new
movie Zameen pe Taare. The movie was
initially being directed by a ‘director’.
But Aamir was not happy with the way
things were going and started wresting
control of the movie.
Then
the news came that the movie was being ‘jointly’
directed by Aamir. Everyone knew what that meant.
Aamir has an eye for detail that can tire others.
When he started directing, he wanted everything
to be perfect. Now that is something that should
be appreciated. But maybe he went a bit too far
with his perfectionism. The news from the sets
is that he was never happy with the way things
were. Just when everything was ready and the shot
was to be taken, he would order something, lights,
props,camera anglle etc to be changed.
When this started happening just too often and
when Aamir’s wife Kiran also started suggesting
changes the technicians decided that they had
enough and walked out of the sets. Shooting was
stalled. Further developments are being closely
watched. This might turn out to be a test of powers
between the star and the technicians.
