‘K K Salai’ launch – Soaring Mercury and sizzling Namitha
May 01, 2006
Namitha
Srikanth is getting ready for his next film after the moderate success of Mercury pookkal. Titled Kizhakku kadarkarai salai, this film will also be directed by Sri’s lucky mascot, S.S. Stanley. The director was quite happy that his run of success with Sri, which began with April Madhathil has been going strong. He said that despite doing a string of films with the same hero, KKS has a different feel and look. It has been his endeavor to bring out the versatility of the young hero. Srikanth disclosed that he would like to do variety of roles and not be slotted either as a romantic or action hero. He was willing to experiment with challenging roles.
The title is apt as the story unfolds on the majestic East Coast Road south of Chennai. An incident on the road brings the hero and the heroine together and changes their life forever. Talented Bhavana is the heroine. The villain is in the form of the heroine’s brother. The actor who would play this role has not been finalized yet. Nana Patekar or Prakashraj are the names doing the rounds. Ganja Karuppu has been roped in for an important role.

We present here an exclusive gallery of the launch of this film.

The function was held at the AVM Studios on Sunday. It was hot under the shamiana but as soon as Namitha entered there was a whiff of cool breeze. Namitha had starred with Srikanth in Pambarakkanalae last year.

There was a posse of photographers from various television channels covering the event. The puja was held at the famed Ganesha Temple inside the studios. Some climbed on to the corridor trying to get a better view. They also helped their colleagues from the other channels. This banter between the techies of rival channels did not go unnoticed. Some felt that all the noise and brouhaha had lowered the decorum of the temple and the event. The AVM management has promised to look into the issue.
