including Tamil films Angadi Theru, Singam,
Raavanan, Madrasapattinam, and Vinnaithandi
Varuvaaya.
However, it was Peepli Live that emerged
successful. According to inside sources,
Angadi Theru was one film that gave a
strict competition to Aamir Khan’s Peepli
Live but the decision makers decided on
the latter as it was social satire reflecting
more on the Indian society.
Peepli Live is a film that deals with
farmer suicide in India. The film is directed
by Anusha Rizvi and produced by Aamir
Khan.
