The Director's Council
is going to host a gala event on the 23rd
of this month to mark the 40th anniversary
of its inception. A host of events have
been planned to celebrate the existence
of legends of the industry. According to
a release on Monday, the members of the
council, headed by Bharathiraja and RK Selvamani,
have decided to use the funds collected
on the October 23 function to build a premises
exclusively for the directors and its council.
Interestingly, the director's council does
not own a separate building unlike other
associations.
The members of the Council have also urged
the Indian government to release a stamp
in memory and felicitation of legendary
directors Sridhar and SS Vasan. "This
would create awareness among the people
regarding the great work done by these two,"
a director said.
