Kanthaswamy Audio Release function
took place at Chennai Trade Center
at around 7.30 p.m on May 17, 2009.
The programme was started with the
lighting of the ‘Kuthu Vilakku’
by five prominent personalities,
Kavitha Natrajan, daughter of Kalaipuli
S Dhanu, Manjari Susi Ganesan, ‘Ceylon’
Mani, Nallammai Ramanathan, Abirami
mall, executive director and Seema
Agarwal.
There was a dance performance from
the ‘Alegra’ song by
actress Shriya Saran along with
Italian models on stage. The actress
told that the song was close to
her heart and is full of life. The
actress praised Vikram, calling
him a fantastic actor and one of
the best actors in the country.
She also said that only Vikram can
make the impossible, possible.
Director Susi Ganesan who spoke
during the launch thanked all the
contributors who have played a great
role in adopting 30 villages. He
also said that he received around
1000 responses when they announced
the village adoption plan, but due
to financial constraint where only
able to adopt 30 villages which
include the native village of Susi
Ganesan. Some of the prominent donors
were Kuwait Raja, Kalpathi S Agoram,
Venkatachalam, Ganesan, Veeramani,
Abiramani Ramananthan, Subramanian,
A G Nayagan, Nalli Kuppusamy, Satya
Jyothi Thyagarajan, Ramesh Babu
and many others.
Director Susi Ganesan said that
Vikram has sung 4 songs out the
total of 8 songs in the film. Vikram
was all praises for Devi Sri Prasad
and stated that his son and daughter
are great fans of the composer.
A marriage hall was donated by
the producer of the film Dhanu for
the village adoption cause and the
curtain was raised by the chief
guest of the event Oscar winner
A R Rahman. Cheques were distributed
to the representatives of the 30
villages by A R Rahman.
‘Abirami’ Ramanathan
the distributor of the film and
Dr. Chockalingam, Cardiologist spoke
in the event.
Aglio Marcoci who is the distributor
for Italy gave away the ‘Cultural
Diplomat’ Award to the director
of Kanthaswamy Susi Ganesan. Marcoci
also adopted two villages during
the event.
The audio was released by the Kanthaswamy
team and was received by ‘Chiyan’
