The international workshop on screenplay
writing, which was organized by
Raj Kamal International and the
Indian Institute of Technology,
came to an end yesterday. Speaking
at the event Kamal said that he
is not against songs and dances
in Tamil films but was merely against
inducing them in films where it
was not needed.
The actors stated that he welcomed
songs and dances in films where
it is necessary to have them and
pointed out that many of his films
had some of the best songs and dance
sequences. He added that filmmakers
should concentrate on making films
that are crispier and less time
consuming.
Balu Mahendra, Ameer, Dharani, Parthiban,
Lingusamy, Na Muthukumar, Ramesh
Aravind among others participated
in the event.
