The Tamil Nadu government had announced
a few days ago that the entertainment
tax sops and the concession for
outdoor shooting for the film industry
will be revised. As per the government
viewpoint, these sops did not reach
the common man as the prices of
the tickets still remained on the
higher side.
The state government has now appointed
a 7-member committee to submit its
recommendations in these issues.
The committee will be headed by
noted producer AVM Saravanan. Abirami
Ramanathan, Coimbatore Mayor Venkatachalam,
RS Barathi, among others will be
a part of this committee. The committee
is also expected to submit report
on several other issues pertaining
to the film industry. |
