The cool dude of Kollywood, R.Madhavan
aka Maddy celebrates his birthday
today. This birthday will be special
for the ever smiling actor. For
a period in 2007 and 2008, it looked
like he was fading away from the
mainstream Kollywood scene with
a few average products. It also
did not help matters that he was
constantly shuttling between Kollywood
and Bollywood. But 2009 has brought
some new sunshine for this sunny
personality. It was the kind of
genre that one would least associate
with a romantic hero, but it was
a horror flick that put an end to
his horror run at the box office.
Yaavarum Nalam turned the tide in
favor of Maddy, also sparking a
trend of horror flicks in Kollywood.
The Hindi version 13B too brought
in some positive reports. Now, things
are definitely looking up. Yaavarum
Nalam was followed up with Guru
En Aalu and he has a few others
lined up for the rest of the year
including Naan Aval Adhu.
So, Maddy may not have exactly hit
a purple patch, but the good times
definitely seem to have returned
and the man who made such a stunning
debut with Alai Payuthe is back
on track to fulfilling the promises
that he had delivered with his debut.
