Bharathiraja incurs Kamal's wrath

Director Bharathiraja, in all probability, could find himself embroiled in another controversy. The director at a press meet held recently said that Tamil cinema is undergoing a thin phase as it is devoid of good stories and themes. The most recent example that he cited to substantiate his statement was Kamal Haasan's

Dasavatharam. He said the film concentrated only on using the latest technologies and did not contain a viable storyline. Bharathiraja cribbed that this worrying trend came in to being because a good number of storywriters decided to don the directors' robes. This had reduced the importance of directors considerably and paved for actors to take the centre stage, he rued.
