Court stays Moserbaer

The Madras High Court has issued an interim stay on Moserbaer to refrain from selling VCDs and DVDs of twelve films. The complainant K.B. Ravichandran of Movieland, in his plaint, has alleged that he possessed the sale rights of the 12 films, including 16 Vayadhinile, Kizhakke Pogum Rail, in 2001 for a lease period of 99 years. He averred

that only Movieland possessed the sole rights to sell the film copies and Moserbaer has infringed upon is rights. If the case turns in favor of Ravichandran, Moserbaer could end up paying the amount realized through the sale of the VCDs and DVDs along with the interest rate of 24 per cent
