Villain of Vijay
December 22, 2009
The recently released Vijay’s Vettaikaran has garnered good responses. The music of the film has come in for much praise and so is the villain of the film. For well informed people, the villain resembles Saikumar, who has featured in films like Andapuram, Vettiya Madichu Kattu etc.

When the matter was probed, it was disclosed that the villain Ravi Shankar is indeed the brother of Saikumar and was behind the camera all along. He is a renowned dubbing artist who has dubbed for more than 2500 films. The offer to feature in Vettaikaran was accidental when director Babu Sivan spotted Ravi Shankar who was returning from Prasad studios after dubbing for a film. When the director approached him to act as a baddie in Vijay’s film, he is said to have agreed but after much apprehension. However, with the release of the film, he is happy that his performance has been well received.
