Priyadarshan’s award

The V Shantaram awards were presented recently to the winners. The best actor and best actress awards were bagged by Prakash Raj (Kanchivaram) and Rani Mukherjee (Dil Bole Hadippa). The director of Kanchivaram, Priyadarshan was handed over the best director award.

Speaking at the function, the ace director revealed that though he had directed about 80 films in a span of 27 years, this is the first time he is being honored with the best director award. The best cinematography award also went to Kanchivaram. Nandita Das got the best debut director for Firaaq.
