Reportedly "Murpokku Samooga Needhi Peravai" in Kanchipuram is to inaugurate the statue of late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on August 30th. According to media reports, a PIL was filed in Madras High Court that a public offense was committed by the Kanchipuram municipality as there should be official permission from the government for the erection of any statue and they violated the rules.
But the petitioner submitted the proof of a news copy mentioning that the statue was implemented at the cost of government in Kanchipuram municipality.
