Lucknow sellers begin strike as meat markets shut in city

Several traders’ associations in Lucknow have reportedly begun a strike against the shutting of chicken, meat and egg markets in the city. According to reports, around 80% of markets selling non-vegetarian products have been shut in the city, after the state CM Yogi Adityanath directed a ban on slaughterhouses. Even the fish markets have been asked to close down, said a trader.
