A man identified as Balaram Mukhi in Bhuvaneshwar sold his 11-month-old son for Rs. 23,000 and bought alcohol for Rs. 19,500, Mobile phone for Rs. 2,000 and a silver anklet for his daughter at Rs. 2000. Reportedly the man sold his son to an elderly couple who he met a few days ago. The woman lost her 24-year-old son and was suffering from depression. Balaram alleged that he sold his son to help the couple.
