The government of TamilNadu decided to issue smart cards to people in 2014 to replace family cards. And it remained as announcements. The smart card was made important only after 2016. A smart card issued in Salem to Saroja, a 42-year-old woman reportedly had the picture of film actress Kajal Agarwal instead of the family member. According to media reports, the political criticisms is that it is not a mistake but shame on the state government.
