We introduced NEET, but never compelled students: Stalin

Addressing the cadres at a protest against NEET in Chennai, opposition leader M K Stalin on Wednesday reportedly said that the NEET was introduced when DMK was ruling in Tamil Nadu with an alliance with Congress in the Centre. But the government did not compel students to write the medical exam, he added. However, Stalin asserted that party chief and then Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was the first to oppose the medical exam. The DMK working president also claimed that the Supreme Court invalidated the NEET in 2013 in a case filed by M Karunanidhi.
