The US military has reportedly claimed that two Chinese aircraft "unprofessionally" intercepted a US aircraft designed to detect radiation while it was flying in international airspace over the East China Sea. Even as tensions rise over US activity near the resource-rich international waters off China's coast, the military also added, the issue is being addressed with China through appropriate diplomatic channels.
