According to reports, the 2002 riots in Gujarat will no longer be described as anti-Muslim riots in NCERT textbooks. Reportedly, one of India’s worst communal riots post-Independence will be now be referred to as the Gujarat riots. The decision was taken at a meeting of the course review committee that includes representatives of the CBSE and the NCERT.
