The film is based on Tamil superhit Thuppakki which had Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles. Music for this film is composed by Pritam Chakraborty and directed by A.R.Muragadoss, who directed the original.

Aaj Dil Shayarana
Singers: Arijit Singh
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

The album begins with a groovy melody sung by the gifted Arijit Singh. The harmonium touches in the prelude sets up the catchy tune. The interludes are well presented with pleasant orchestration and laid back rhythms.

Tu Hi Toh Hai
Singers: Kunal Ganjawala
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

After a relaxed beginning, the album notches up for the first of the many party tracks. The House Mix and the riffs used are not over done but very pleasant to hear. The usage of violin makes its presence felt throughout making for another highlight of the track.

Ashq Na Ho
Singers: Arijit Singh
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

A relaxed melody in the earthy voice of Arijit Singh arrives next over a folk styled tune with feel good string section which gives the track a solid native feel. Arijit Singh undoubtedly takes the track to a new level with his soulful singing. The rhythm takes a backseat throughout the track and giving more room for the melody.

Blame the Night
Singers: Aditi Singh Sharma, Arijit Singh, Piyush Kapoor
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

Another party track with heavy electronica sounds is sung well by Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh Sharma. The lyrics blend well with the power packed disco groove. The track has great energy where no layer is overdone and the ambience makes for a fun listen.

Palang Tod Ke
Singers: Mika Singh, Ritu Pathak
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

A funky track sung by the Punjabi powerhouse vocalist Mika Singh has various layers of electronica, energy filled rhythms. The track is essentially Punjabi and possesses a tremendous mass appeal for what it offers. Interludes are surprisingly underplayed with less layers of instruments, yet it makes the desired impact. In fact, the track has a peculiar touch of Bollywood songs from the 90s.

Palang Tod Ke (Remix)
Singers: Mika Singh, Ritu Pathak
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

The folksy track is mixed well with good usage of trumpets, electronic riffs and there is no overcrowd of orchestration. Perhaps the best part of this remix version is the interludes which have a trance like feel while the string section takes the lead.

Tu Hi Toh Hai (alternate version)
Singers: Benny Dayal
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

The grooviest song of the album arrives again in the voice of Benny Dayal now. While the other version has mellowed style of singing, Benny Dayal explores the composition with his own take on it. His singing in higher octaves is commendable.

Verdict: A balanced mix of melodies and party tracks.
