LEKAR HUM DEEWANA DIL SONGS REVIEW

The album kickstarts with a pulsating track having a balanced blend of electronica, rap and Arabic influences. Rahman’s voice is high on vigor and injects the track with his energy. Despite its power packed chorus hook, the track has an inherent breeziness. 

A laid back country styled track with good guitars and relaxed Jamaican rhythms where the lead singer Jonita Gandhi does a great job with the tremolo part of the vocals. The simple words and the lively string section add more personality to this happy tune.

The album continues its uptempo mood with this folktronic track built on punchy acoustic guitar chords and dance beats. Shiraz Uppal does his bit to make the song a feel good melody. Perhaps the best part of the track is Rahman’s masterful introduction of ghatam to the proceedings.

Though the title may suggest so, the track is not entirely a pure Qawwali but begins with an experimental blend of an aria solo leading into groovy funk and African rhythms. The fantastic piano touches and rustic vocals sit well along with the instrumentation.  Raghav Mathur’s voice feeds on the energy of the band, where the bass playing especially stands out for its groove and dexterity.

A relaxing ballad with a typical Rahman arrangement featuring acoustic guitars, feather-weight beats and inspired instrumental fills. The singers live up to the track’s demands and both come up with excellent performances. Nakash Aziz wonderfully complements the soft voice of Shweta Pandit during the vocal interplay.

The funk style returns in the album's finale with a soulful melody sung well by Hriday Gattani. Again driven by a groovy bassline, the track features some impactful live drumming. The acoustic guitar really does lift spirits to wrap up a bright and lively album.
