He was the most unconventional
hero and broke the myth of good looks being
the prerequisite for stardom. His lean build
and a not-so-handsome face have did not deter
him from attaining star status right in his
debut film, Thulluvatho illamai directed by
big brother Selvaraghavan.
A
series of hit films like Kadhal kondein and
Thiruda thirudi was followed by an almost sudden
downslide with Pudukkottaiyilirundhu Saravanan,
Sullan and Devadaiyai
kandein. Although there
is a general impression that he works only in
home production or that he could be typecast
for psycho roles, his forthcoming films have
allayed all these rumors. He has Adhu oru kanakkalam
directed by Balu Mahendra ready for release.
He will soon start work in Ashokamitran and
Tiruvillaiyadal. He is married to Aishwarya,
superstar Rajini’s daughter.
