Mani
Ratnam is an accomplished
director who is credited with putting Tamil
cinema on par with international standards.
He proposed to Suhasini when he was 33. The
lady said yes to the marriage and they took
the vows in 1987.
Suhasini
was also a busy actress then. After marriage,
she explored new vistas in direction and cinematography.
She also continues to act in meaningful films.
Despite being so immensely talented, they do
not have ego hassles and so their relationship
has stood the test of time. They have a son,
Nandan. Suhasini is remarkable because she manages
her career as actress and TV show compere and
her role as wife and mother with complete ease.
