The
movie Anniyan
can be said as a landmark for the use of latest
technologies. The film was directed by Shankar
and had Cheeyan Vikram, Sadha and Prakash Raj
in the lead roles. The movie was produced by
V.Ravichandran under his Oscar Movies banner
on a lavish scale. Special mention must be made
about the use of the time slice camera. The
time slice camera was already made famous through
Hollywood movie Matrix. Shankar’s Nayak
and Boyz and Shahrukh’s Main Hoon Na too
had this technology used earlier.
But
Anniyan was special as they had used 122 cameras
and came up with a 270° rotation instead
of the usual 180°. The engineers who came
for assistance from Big freeze, London appreciated
Shankar’s innovative thinking.
