P. Vasu is an experienced director known much for his sentimental films. His most popular film not long ago was Chinnathambi. But all that changed with Chandramukhi. The film has not only established him in Tamil but in Telugu and Malayalam besides crossing the seas to Japan and South Africa. It has been running for over 244 days creating records in collections.

It is the only film having crossed 100 days in over 150 theatres. Therefore, producers felt that Vasu should direct the Hindi version of Chandramukhi. But, he has decided to concentrate on Paramasivan and then do a Telugu film with Balakrishna before taking up the Hindi Chandramukhi.
