There had been reports from Bollywood that Anil Kapoor is keen on a Mr. India sequel. The Anil Kapoor-Sridevi starrer, Mr. India went on to become a blockbuster several years ago and this film was directed by Shekar Kapur. It is also said that Anil requested Shekar to prepare the script so they could get the ball rolling.

However, with the newfound status post Slumdog Millionaire and quite a few projects in Hollywood that should keep the star busy for over a year, it is unlikely that that he could commit on the sequel right now.

On the other hand, Shekar Kapur has been signed up to judge a reality show, India’s Got Talent. With both Shekar and Anil busy, Mr. India’s sequel is shelved as of now, says sources.
