AN ASSASSINATED LEADER ONSCREEN

A film based on the assassinated Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto is to hit the screens in 2012. The film’s release will coincide with the fifth death anniversary of Ms. Bhutto. Titled as Benazir Bhutto — Destiny, the movie is the brainchild of Farah Durrani and Victoria Schofield. It will be produced by Silverstream Productions.

It is important to note that Benazir’s husband Zardari declined an offer from Mahesh Bhatt to make a film on the late leader’s life. Mahesh had planned to make the film with veteran actress Shabana Azmi playing the role of Benazir.
